I was really excited to receive my copy of Stamp It! Cards in the mail. This is an awesome issue that highlights stamping on every card. Always cool to see new techniques and finding fun stamps to add to my wishlist. I was especially excited to see the Father’s Day card I submitted in print!

SI PC - All Star Dad

I used mostly the Just Baseball set by Stampin’ Up! for this card. I think the grosgrain ribbon is my favorite element– I love that shade of blue!

If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, head over to the Paper Crafts website!

The talented Kristina Werner posted this color challenge on her blog, and I figured I’d play along…

Inspired by these colors, I created a simple little Valentine’s Day card:

The red with blue damask sticker is by Making Memories. It’s actually from a travel collection, and there was an airplane graphic on the top left. I covered it up with a coral circle, then cut out a heart from felt and added a little Basic Grey button. “XOXO” is from the Heart Prints set by Papertrey Ink. The mustard strip is cut from a sheet by Crate Paper and the saffron border sticker is from an older Stampin’ Up! Simply Scrappin’ kit.

This is my first Valentine’s Day card for 2010. Can’t believe Feb. 14 is a little more than a month away! Hope to have some fun treat containers and more cards up soon!

I’m a big fan of Stampin’ Up’s Simply Scrappin’ kits. Not just for scrapbooking (though they’re great for that too!), the coordinated elements and papers are perfect for making quick and cute cards. I whipped up a few items this month using the holiday Christmas Jingle kit

SU Cards 1

The Merry Christmas stamp matched the handwritten font, and I also couldn’t resist adding some Swarovski bling to those ornaments. The mitten chipboard is  by K&Company. Here’s the inside of the Christmas Blessings card, I love that the kit comes with sentiments perfect for the inside of cards…

For this next card, I paired the red border sticker with this irrestible Santa stamp by Martha Stewart. This was one of my last-minute impulse purchases for holiday projects this year… and I’m so glad I decided to get this set. The full stamp set also includes ice skates, a  teddy bear and snowflakes… other images I’m sure I’ll make good use of this winter :)

Santa Sleigh 1

The Christmas Jingle border stickers also come in handy for creating coordinated envelopes. I picked up this quote from the Dec issue of Creating Keepsakes (which included an amazing holiday quote reference I’ll be pulling from for my holiday scrapbooks!) and used the polka dotted border sticker as an accent to the quote, which I wanted to be the focal point of this project…

Friendship Christmas set

The classic red and green and simply fun patterns in this collection are just perfect for holiday cards and packaging. It’s also fun to add a sweet candy cane to complete the merry ensemble!

It’s snowing alot here, so today seemed like a great time to share holiday cards I’ve made recently featuring snow

Glitter Snowflake Card 1

This simple card shimmers with silver-on-silver heat embossed snowflakes, topped with Martha Stewart glitter (I love that stuff!) and Swarovski crystal centers. The snowflake stamp is from an older set by Stampin’ Up! that is my go-to set for snowflake year after year.

Home to Yours 1

I love K&Company’s amazing glitter chipboard. The little pieces make fantastic focal points for cards and are so easy to work with! The chipboard houses took centerstage here. I printed out the sentiment on SEI textured paper from the WinterSong collection and added a simple ribbon and button to finish it off.

Peace Forest 1

This card also uses glittered paper from SEI’s WinterSong collection, along with an embossed sentiment by Stampin’ Up! The inside features a quote that I thought worked perfectly with the serene landscape on the front of the card…

Peace Forest 2

“Christmas waves a magic wand of the world, and behold everything is softer and more beautiful.” -Norman Vincent Peale

A quote also fitting for today’s beautiful snow outside. :)

My holiday project today was to dress up this little Ziploc plastic container of Christmas cookies. Here’s the before:

Christmas cookies 2

The challenge: Making the blue lid blend in with the rest of the package wrap and keeping it Christmas-y. I originally wanted to cover it up (scallop edge? ribbon?) but realized that since you need to twist the lid to open the container, that might not be the best idea…

So instead I decided on using SEI’s WinterSong blue-and-red candy cane paper. I found a circle Nestabilities die-cut fit perfectly for the inside of the lid. I added the paper, tied on velvet ribbon, made a sweet little tag (stamped with a sentiment sized just right from Papertrey Ink)… and here’s how the little package came out:

Ready for gift giving and only took me about 20 minutes. Super easy and makes the plain tupperware a little bit more festive!

I’m excited to have my new blog/website up and running. And also to share what I’ve been working on for the holidays! I’m only going to give sneak peeks at this point, since cards still have to be mailed out. But here’s a quick look at some cards I’ve been creating, without giving too much away…

K&Company's glitter chipboard is amazing! And who says Christmas cards have to be red and green? I'm loving pink as a girly alternative to red.

I think little details make all the difference on cards... how adorable are these little jingle bells? Just wait to you see the full card. I think this turned out as my favorite holiday card so far!

I add rhinestones to everything lately! These ornaments needed some sprucing up so I added some Swarovski bling…

I fell in love with SEI’s WinterSong collection when I saw it at CKC (Creating Keepsakes Convention) last summer. This lovely tree paper paired well with an older sentiment stamp by Stampin’ Up!

I hope you enjoyed this little peek for now. Full project photos and more holiday cards coming soon!
